Following updated guidance from Companies House, identity verification for all company directors and people with significant control becomes mandatory on 18 November 2025, we are urging you to do this sooner rather than later as failure to comply means we won't be able to file any information on your behalf with Companies House.

There are a couple ways to verify your identity, but the easiest way is to verify yourself online using the free government software.  In order to do this you will need one of the following documents:

NB: All UK passports issued after 2006 are biometric – but if yours was issued before this date, then you will need to use an alternative document for verification.

To complete the online process you will also need:

If you do not have these types of photo ID – don't panic!  you can ask your local post office to verify your identity.  Please speak to us first for more information.

You have received this email as our key contact, but please ensure that this email is distributed to all of the company's directors and people with significant control to ensure that everyone complies. If you are unsure who needs to comply – you can refer to your company information on Companies House; click on the “People” tab and tick the “Current officers” filter: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/
